Peter Blom is an economist and is CEO of the Dutch bank TRIODOS.
The Triodos Bank was the first “sustainable” bank in the world to invest solely in ethical, sustainable projects and to offer its customers reasonable and realistic dividends. Its primary objective is not profit, but sustainability.
The merit Peter Blom has shown as a pioneer of ecological investment, socially responsible banking, micro-finance and sustainability has gained him international acclaim.
He has been a member of the Club of Rome since 2010. He is also chairman of GLOBAL ALLIANCE FOR BANKING ON VALUES and sits on the board of the Netherlands’ banking association. In 2008 he was made Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau by the Queen of the Netherlands in recognition of the merit he earned in socially responsible banking and sustainability.
Peter Blom has for many years been involved in the farming, sales and marketing of organic farming produce.
